Pair of John Gee Hall Chairs


A rare pair of George III oak & beech hall chairs, by John Gee, circa 1805, with remains of original pale blue paint, stamped maker’s monogram and workman’s initials.

The London chairmaker John Gee was listed as ‘Chairmaker and Turner’ at 49 Wardour Street, Soho from 1799, and from 1803 as ‘Chairmaker & Turner to His Majesty’. Gee also undertook commissions for aristocratic patrons.
